The Lewiston EZCard, explained
By Junk Lords crew / Published / Updated
What the card covers
The EZCard waives tip fees on 1,000 pounds of waste a year. That includes trash, tires, bulky waste, yard debris and other accepted material. After the first 1,000 pounds, you pay the fee.
The facility accepts sorted construction debris, electronics, refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, furniture and carpet, tires, and brush and leaves. It does not take household hazardous waste, propane tanks, paint or medications.
Who qualifies
The card is for Lewiston residents. Property owners get the first card free when taxes are paid. Tenants can buy one for $25 with a lease and a license. One card per household, valid for one year.
Where to get it
Sign up at the Solid Waste Facility at 420 River Road or at the Treasurer Office at City Hall, 27 Pine Street. Facility hours are Monday to Friday 7:15 am to 2:45 pm and Saturday 8:00 to 11:50 am, with license checks at the gate. Mixed loads with scrap metal may need the bypass lane.
When hauling it yourself stops making sense
The card covers the fee, not the lifting. If the pile is heavy, up a flight of stairs or more than one trip, send us photos through the quote form. Single items are $64 and small jobs are $119, and Caden confirms your price before you pay anything. Our posted prices are the cheapest posted prices in Lewiston-Auburn, and the price we send is the price you pay unless the pile changes. More on our Lewiston page.
