How to get rid of a refrigerator in Lewiston or Auburn

By Junk Lords crew / Published / Updated

Why fridges cost more

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers contain refrigerant that has to be handled properly. That is why a fridge is $99 on its own or $35 added to a larger job, while a washer or stove is $69 alone and free on a job.

Having us take it

Empty the fridge, disconnect it and send photos through the quote form. Note stairs and the route out. Caden confirms the price, and you pay from the link we send to confirm the slot. The price we send is the price you pay unless the pile changes.

City options

Lewiston residents can take refrigerators to the Solid Waste Facility at 420 River Road, which accepts refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers. An EZCard waives tip fees on the first 1,000 pounds a year.

Auburn residents can take white goods, including refrigerators, to Maine Waste to Energy at 110 Goldthwaite Road. Fees are assessed by MWE and proof of residency may be required.

Either way, the unit has to get there. If you would rather we handle the stairs and the hauling, start with photos. More detail is in our appliance removal cost guide, the refrigerator removal page and posted prices.
